“Eijiro on the WEB” is a bilingual English and Japanese database search service available on the ALC website and has been loved by many Japanese English learners and users. This is an application to use “Eijiro on the WEB” on the iPhone and iPod touch in optimized conditions. It is designed specifically for smartphone which enables users to quickly search for English words and phrases anytime and anywhere. Also, this new edition is compatible with “Pro edition,” a fee-based service with registration.
*The database includes two million and 150 thousand English-Japanese index words (version 147: as of March 30, 2016).

Main features (“Eijiro on the WEB” free edition)
Users can search for information in “Eijiro” database using various search techniques. All search operators available for “Eijiro on the WEB” can also be used in the application, including prefix search, partial match retrieval, AND search, OR search, and variation search, etc.

The database is updated every two months and allows users to search using the latest Eijiro database. The update of database is performed in our (ALC) server so users do not have to worry about upgrading their database and can always access to the latest data.

Search results are automatically presented in an incremental manner, which allows users to find their search terms quickly.

Main features (“Eijiro on the WEB” [Pro edition], fee-based service with registration )
Pro edition is a fee-based, upgraded version of “Eijiro on the WEB” and the Pro users are provided with enriched database and functions.
[No display ads] Advertising or promotions of any kind is not displayed.
[Vocabulary list] Users can make their own vocabulary list up to 5000 words.*
[Example sentences] Over a million example sentences are included and more than 5000 new sentences will be added every two months (not available in free edition).*
[Search history] Users can list up to 50 most recent searches.*
[Information sharing with browser] Vocabulary list and search history are shared with users’ own computer browser. *

The functions marked with * are available when users log in with ALC e-mail ID.

Price: 400 yen monthly (including tax, Automatic Renewal)

The service fee is charged to users’ iTunes account via automatic renewal payment system (Apps built-in function).
Subscription will renew automatically unless users turn off Automatic Renewal at least 24-hour before the end of the existing period (Automatic Renewal fee is charged during 24-hour before and the end of the existing period).
To set up or turn off Automatic Renewal, tap “Settings,” next tap “iTunes & App Store,” then “View Apple ID,” lastly tap “Manage.”
The cancellation of the service for a current subscribed month is not accepted.
