Feature Phone

Feature Phone adds a full T9 style keyboard to your wrist. Just install the Apple Watch app to get started!


Everyone is already used to typing messages on their iPhone with a keyboard but there is no built-in solution for Apple Watch. Developed by the creator of the Shift Keyboard Apple Watch app, and a perfect alternative to Scribble or Voice Dictation, Feature Phone makes it much easier to type and send messages from your wrist.


T9 KEYBOARD

Before the iPhone, everyone was typing on keypads that only had 9 keys. Feature Phone brings that retro feel back but this time on Apple Watch!


AUTO COMPLETE

Feature Phone will suggest completions to the current word you are typing. Tap on a suggestion to replace the current typed word with the full suggestion. Great for improving speed on the small screen! Access all suggestions by tapping the ellipsis icon next to the first two suggestions.


OTHER CHARACTERS

Feature Phone has full support for adding symbols from a list or numbers by holding down on them.


EMOJI

Unlike the built-in Messages app, Feature Phone supports adding an unlimited amount of emoji to a single message! Simply select the emoji you’d like to add from the emoji picker and it’ll be appended to your message.


MESSAGE PREVIEW

Before sending your message, just tap the text field to view a full preview of your message.


SENDING

Feature Phone uses the built-in Apple Messages app on your Apple Watch to send messages to your contacts. Type out your message, tap the send button and you’ll be taken to the Messages app with your message ready to go!


DIALING

No need to use the Phone app, just hold down on each of the keys to enter a number. You can then tap


HAPTICS

Choose to receive Haptic Feedback on actions like key presses and button actions.


COMPLICATION

For quick and easy access, you can add the Feature Phone Complication to your Apple Watch’s Watch Face. Just tap and the keyboard will launch.


AUTO CLEAR

After typing out your message and sending to a contact, you can choose to automatically clear the keyboard so you don’t have to clear it yourself.


SETTINGS

Customise Feature Phone your way. Access the Settings menu by using Force Touch on the keyboard and you’ll be able to change options like Haptic Feedback, automatic clearing of messages, and Auto Complete.


APP STORE

The Apple Watch app can be installed without the iPhone counterpart. Just head to the App Store app on your Apple Watch and search Feature Phone. Full instructions for installing & troubleshooting can be found in the iPhone app.


KEYBOARD EXTENSION

Feature Phone is also available on your iPhone. Install the iPhone app and follow the installation instructions to start using the keyboard in all your apps on your iOS device.
