With this new edition devoted to Impressionism, we invite you to explore the Île-de-France and Normandy, in the footsteps of those who have revolutionized painting in the nineteenth century. Here are the places where they set up their easels in the forests, villages, along the rivers or beaches that inspired them.

The capital and new urbanism Haussmann give them new topics and the railroad takes them on the banks of the Seine and Oise. Their paintings reflect the new leisure Parisians, boating, dancing, dance halls ...

Today, these two regions are the colors of Impressionism. In Paris, it is the prestigious collections of the Musée d'Orsay, the Orangerie built to accommodate Monet's Water Lilies and the Marmottan Monet museum where master paintings rub shoulders and those of Berthe Morisot. Most bucolic, painters villages like Auvers-sur-Oise, Giverny or Moret-sur-Loing continue to celebrate this artistic legacy by hosting numerous galleries. Normandy, in turn, puts the paint in the spotlight every three years with the Impressionist Normandy Festival offers many exhibitions and events.
